"Did I hurt you, master?"
"No, you cannot hurt me."
"How so?"
"Something like a bookshelf or a fountain pen can't possibly hurt their owner."
"...but you look miserable."
As if he were an abandoned child and wandering the streets, he touched her cheek.
She froze up and couldn't respond. A man other than her husband hasn't touched her since she was twelve years old... and Stella reached out to him.
